Dr Nusirat Elelu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin. Dr. Elelu also Board certified by the College of Veterinary Surgeon of Nigeria as a Fellow of the Public Health specialty and an affiliate of the Africa Academy of Science (AAS) as well as a member of the Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) College of Experts. She has held several academic positions including as Head of Department, University Board Memberships and also as Faculty Postgraduate Coordinator among others. Dr. Elelu’s research focuses on epidemiology of infectious diseases; vector-borne zoonoses (diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans); global health and One Health. She has competed and won several research grants including the African Research Excellence Funds (2017) and the International Foundation for Science, Sweden (2018 and 2022) awards
