It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin. Our Department is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service in the field of Veterinary Microbiology, with a strong commitment to advancing animal and public health through innovations and collaborations.
We provide students with a solid foundation in Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Mycoplasmology and Immunology, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to diagnose, prevent, and control infectious diseases of animals. Our academic and research programs emphasize the “One Health” approach, recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.
Our staff are passionate educators and researchers, working to address global challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic diseases, and emerging pathogens. We also collaborate with national and international partners to strengthen veterinary and public health systems.
